The local authorities of Namibia, recognizing the importance of fostering friendship, goodwill, and cooperation, have established NALASRA to promote these values through local authority sports and recreation.
As the governing body for various sporting codes, NALASRA oversees and promotes various sport codes, including:

Establish a body that oversees the association’s objectives with prudence, accountability, and professionalism.
Discuss matters raised by members concerning sports and recreation activities under NALASRA’s mandate.
Coordinate and defend the common interests of members in this context.
Serve as a mouthpiece for members on matters related to local authority sports and recreation.
Maintain the authority, independence, and autonomy of members, ensuring respect for General Assembly decisions.
Actively support the inclusion of sports and recreation of its members in the local authority sports and recreation program.
